It has always been very amazing to discover something new especially those with we have knowledge about. Essentially when on gets onto a new employment, the job itself offers endless accounts of thrills and spills. Some define job as a mean to earn a living at something that one finds he is qualified as as well as probably has interest in.
In times of emergency when people start to panic and run around madly in fear of death particularly during incidents concerning raging fire on structures, building collapse and safety & security threats involving CBR (chemical, biological & radioactive) agents, of the few agencies that will courageously brave themselves to go into the hot zone (danger area), one bunch of people stands out above the rest. Risking their lives to save others. They call themselves the Fire-Fighters. Some misconstrue their existence as mere rescue personnel that they take them for granted not knowing the true extent of danger and hazards these professionals have to endure and overcome. Simply for the fact that some are plain ignorant and undeniably condescending towards the noble profession.
Kids love them for the machine they drive around with. Old folks may see them useful during during peace time operation for fetching cat traps on trees. The general population will definitely rely upon the single dominant service they render, i.e. Fire fighting. Beyond that, not that many people know that the full capability of Firefighters. To to enlighten everyone with some of the roles the force take besides firefighting will include height rescue, car fire, ship fire, LPG, oil tank, HazMat, Building collapse, rescue and others.
Whether it is a natural catastrophe or emergency inflicted by any other forces like biological and technological means, someone has to come to the rescue. Certainly civil defense force will be at the incident site faster than the word ZOOM! (well at least that's what we CD forces like to think).
